The Goan Chef Awards was started in 2014 and was the second edition of a Culinary Extravaganza that had been instituted by the promoter and CEO Mr. Rohan Parish to promote the Goa Cuisine in the state of Goa and world over, which according to him was to lose the grounds slowly in Goa itself. The second edition of the Goan Chef Awards was dedicated to the late Chef Boris Rego who was killed in the 26/11 terrorist attack on the Taj Mahal Hotels in the year 2008.
The second edition of The Goan Chef Awards (previously known as Goan Chef Challenge kicked off at IHM, Porvorim, Goa. The edition was sponsored by some of the most renowned names in the Food & Beverage industry and had a jury comprising of some leading Chefs across India.
The exquisite journey of gourmands took place over 6 days and saw over 175 expert teams display exceptional skill. The delicious competition panned out conquering diverse cuisines and categories are it deserts or chicken while giving some of the most celebrated chefs, restaurants and hotels a platform to showcase work of utmost finesse. It was truly an epicurean delight.
The CEO OF GOAN CHEF AWARDS Chef Rohan Parish then said, “The pulse is about to go up a few notches. The intensity and talent on display throughout the week were commendable. It is a competition worthy of crowning the best chefs in the state.”
According to Mr. Rohan, around 178 participants from all the leading hotels and free standing restaurants from Goa took part in the 6-day culinary extravaganza at IHM (Institute of Hotel Management) in Porvorim.
The culinary kings were grandly felicitated with a lavish awards night on the 28th of August, 2016 at Park Hyatt, Goa which increases our expectations of the grand GO CHEESE INDIAN CHEF AWARDS that happens this year in 8 different cities. It is expected to be ecstatic and monumental being one of the unique award ceremonies in India conducted exclusively for the culinary professionals. The Goan Chef Awards have evolved into GO CHEESE INDIAN CHEF AWARDS 2018.
